The goal behind this project was to create an AR product that could serve as promotional material for loyalty programs in large retail, working as an exclusive reward for existing members, as well as an incentive for customers to sign up for the program for the first time. The product’s financial goal was to boost the total revenue of supermarkets by increasing the average check and encouraging customers to purchase certain goods.
The proposed solution for this project, created in collaboration with our partners Live Animations and Art Nation, consisted in developing a loyalty program which offered a unique and exclusive reward –a high quality, limited edition of the AR children’s book “Alice in Wonderland.” This job offered the perfect consolidation of technical innovation, timeless storytelling, and artistic value. The illustrations of the book were designed exclusively by a well known artist, making them a one-of-a-kind piece of literature.
Following the successful purchase of 275,000 units in the first 2 weeks, an amount of downloads exceeding 258,000, a customer rating of 4.5/5, and a significant increase in the average check per customer as a result of this project, the retailer commissioned the creation of a second volume of the book, “Alice through the Looking Glass”, commissioning twice the amount of illustrations and 11 extra AR images along with the cover. The app was among the top downloads of Play Market and Google Play. At the moment, there have been more than 1.4 million copies sold in two countries.
